Gary E. Van Horn, 63, of Harrisburg, died at Hershey Medical Center ER on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018.

He was born in Williamsport on Sept. 21, 1954, the son of Charles E. and Doris J. (Pepperman) Van Horn.

Gary had worked as a butcher both in Williamsport and the Harrisburg area. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed boating and fishing, he also enjoyed going to the casino.

Surviving are three sisters, Linda J. Herr, Kathleen (William) Williams, both of Williamsport, Janice M. (Scott) Seitz, of Lakewood, N.Y. Six nieces and nephews and their families; longtime friend, Mary Lou Barzyk, of Harrisburg; and his beloved dog, Cubby.

A graveside service at Montoursville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Lycoming County S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 1770.
