A Happy Mother’s Day from Miles Away

A Happy Mother’s Day from Miles Away

There is nothing more needed today than the amazing love, caring, and nurturing moms bring to the world. The bond between a mother and her child usually grows stronger as the years go by. Then becomes even more loving and powerful when the next generation comes along. Mom becoming gram, nana, grandma — and then hopefully a great-grandmother.

As I thought about the best way to honor my mother and all the moms that deserve that special day of recognition and appreciation, the answer was right in front of me.

See, she took care of Jimmy and Hunter years ago, and now she is remembering those days as her great-grandson James Beau has come into the world. Now living in Texas, my mom has yet to hold Beau for the first time, but she seems to wait each day for the latest pictures.

So Happy Mother’s Day, Mom, I love you so very much, and here’s the latest photo of Lauren, Jimmy, and Beau.

Happy Mother’s Day to the newest mom in my family, Lauren! I love you, and could never put into words how much the love and joy this little miracle has brought to our lives. You are doing an amazing job; Webb babies aren’t the easiest to take care of. They are early risers, always state their opinion even though they can’t talk, and seem to get grumpier as the day goes on, always fighting sleep. My Nanny Webb once told me my Dad was the same way, so I’ll blame him.

Happy Mother’s Day to Michelle, who is now dealing with her fourth James. Wow, she could write a book. I love you, and I love watching you take care of your first grandchild the same way you took care of the boys. You’re wonderful with baby Beau.

I have been blessed with many special ladies who have been wonderful moms and grandmothers. Happy Mother’s Day to Carol Webb, thank you for everything you do, and especially for loving my father and taking care of him. Happy Mother’s Day to my mother-in-law, Theresa, thank you for loving me as your own. Happy Mother’s Day to my sister, Jodi, who is an amazing mother and aunt. I love you, little sister, just wait until you’re a grandparent. Happy Mother’s Day to my other little sister, Morgan. You are also and amazing aunt and mother.

Happy Mother’s Day to Lauren’s Mom, Karen. She’s been splitting days with Michelle while Dr. Lauren is at work. I call it grandmother daytime double-duty.

I’m sure, as you’re reading this, you’re thinking about your mom and/or the special ladies throughout your life who have provided that motherly love. I understand in today’s world, the true blessing of motherly love and how often it may come from someone other than the biological mom.

Stepparents, Grandparents, and other family members have seemed to take on the role of mom. As have those blessed with the love to foster children or adopt. Please, before you ever judge anybody or any situation, remember the most important thing is that a child gets that oh so important motherly love and guidance. To a child, it’s just that, nothing more, nothing less, and always needed.

If one thing is going to change the world for the good, it’s a mother’s love.

God Bless America.
