The Final Stretch

It’s the final days of the Little League World Series. Soon we’ll crown another LLBWS Champion, and everyone will return to their own corner of the world. But, man, it is something to see while everyone is here!

I’ve been spending a fair amount of time at the Little League Complex and have taken thousands of pictures over the last week — it makes my little heart happy to see all the kids and families just having the best time! Whether they are on the field, in the stands, or wandering the complex and hill. Everyone just always looks incredibly happy to be there and taking everything in.

And watching the kids is amazing. Even when they lose, they do so with dignity and a composure that most adults don’t have.

We get to wind out the week with a lot of fun things in the area too! Williamsport Welcomes the World is on Friday and I’m sure that will be a great family-friendly fun experience. That will bring tens of thousands of people to downtown Williamsport, and I love to see the support for local businesses!

I once again have to give credit to all the Little League team members. They manage to pack a year’s worth of work into just ten days and I can’t imagine how they get it all done! There are so many cogs in a very well-oiled machine that are constantly at work, and I’m sure it would make me crazy to try and keep it all straight. And that’s when everything is going according to plan. Throw a spanner in the works, like bad weather and you would still never know that people are scrambling to keep everything on track!

Also, I would like to say THANK YOU to my fellow photographers in the wells at the stadiums. I dropped a lens cap at Lamade last week and totally forgot to grab it after the game. Several photographers were kind enough to let me know that it was picked up and put in a safe place for me to find. Much appreciated!

Back to School

Well, well, well — would you look at that. We are just about set for back to school. It sure doesn’t feel like it’s time for summer vacation to come to an end, but here we are. I hope that you all got out to have some fun this summer. I got to have a lot of summertime-funtime these last couple of months, but I certainly wouldn’t mind if fall took her sweet time returning to the area!

For those heading back to the classroom, I hope you have an amazing year. Remember, it costs nothing to be kind. You never know what someone else is going through, or dealing with, so please be nice.

There’s no excuse for going out of your way to be mean or to bully someone else. I know not everyone is going to get along with everyone, and that’s fine. Just have a heart. And remember — If you can’t be nice, be quiet.
