Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday America!

“She’s a good girl, loves her momma, loves Jesus, and America too.” Good ol’ Tom Petty and his song “Free Fallin’.” This is the saying on a tank top I ordered to wear for the 4th of July. It was perfect for me. First off, I love my momma so much. I love me some Jesus and feel like I am a good girl. (I think? Hahaha.) And America? Heck yes, I love America!! I bleed the red, white, and blue and love the country we live in. I will place my hand over my heart, stand for the National Anthem, and show respect for our flag. I know some things going on right now in our country aren’t right, but we still live in the best country in the world. If you don’t think so, then you are a part of what’s wrong with our country, so you might as well just quit reading now. I’ll gladly help you search for a plane ticket. I will always stand up for my country and have so much respect and honor for the people who fight and stand for this country we live in. We need to stand united! So much hate right now and disrespect. You may not like Trump, but he is our President and deserves some respect. You may step on our flag, and act like idiots, but that flag represents our freedom that our founding fathers fought for! Whether you are democrat, republican, or liberal, we have to stick together. Our beliefs may not be the same, but we all live in the same country. Like Ronald Regan said, “If we ever forget we are one Nation under God, then we will be a Nation gone under.” This is a country where we are so BLESSED to live in, and a FREE to go where we please. To go to church every Sunday freely and not go to jail for praising our almighty Lord and Savior. Where we have health care, jobs, running water, and food. For Pete’s sake, people wake up! There is so much hardship out in the world. I know some folks don’t get the best health care or struggle to buy groceries, but there is help out there. Some countries you just don’t eat and have dirt for floors! Quit whining, and start being grateful for where you live! So, on the 4th of July, you best appreciate where you have the PRIVILEGE to live. Stand for that flag and take in those fireworks baby, because dang it all, we live in the US of A! God Bless America!

Americana Fruit Salad

My Aunt Sherie Shirn, who is an incredible cook, made this for our picnic at our cabin Memorial Day weekend. It tasted delicious and looked so adorable that I asked if I could get a picture of it and put it in the Webb for the 4th of July. If you think this looks good, you should try her chocolate crinkle cookies! Sweet baby Jesus, she makes the best! I’ll have to share that recipe with you soon! For now, enjoy this fruit salad that will be sure to be a hit this 4th of July!

Cut up watermelon, blueberries, and strawberries and put in a large bowl. Mix well.

Add a little sugar to your liking, then add white chocolate chips. Stir again.

The mix of the chocolate and fruit is so tasty and will be such a sweet touch to your table this 4th of July.
