First and foremost, I would personally like to congratulate the 16 teams who made it all the way to Williamsport for the 2019 Little League World Series. This is my favorite time of year as our lovely backyard provides the backdrop to one of the greatest sporting events on the planet. I love the entire tournament and can’t wait to take my 10-year-old over to Lamade and Volunteer for some amazing action.

I am a huge fan and advocate of Little League Baseball. I am also a proud graduate of the program. I played my ball for Boulder-Arrowhead in Billings, Montana. My entire experience taught me a great deal. Yes. I sometimes chime in with a different perspective. #usabat. #mlbclassic. #pitchcounts. But I am one of Little League’s biggest supporters. Hopefully my many friends at International know this. Much love mates.

These next few weeks puts our beautiful area on the global stage. It’s a big deal kids. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? Williamsport, PA. NEVER HEARD OF IT. It’s the home of Little League Baseball. OH YEAH. I WATCH IT EVERY YEAR. THAT’S ON MY BUCKET LIST. YOU ACTUALLY LIVE THERE? Yep.

So on behalf of those who permanently reside — WELCOME TO WILLIAMSPORT BOYS AND GIRLS. I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. Lycoming County is the bomb and we have so much to offer. I like to tell people that we have a little something FORE everyone. TM pending. YES. I coined the phrase. Give me a call if you need some advice on what to do in between games. I am here to help sports fans.

Things officially kicked off this Wednesday PM as we honored the teams in the Grand Slam Parade. Over 40,000 folks lined our downtown streets and it was a blast. The Spencers normally pitch a tent near the Peter Herdic House. My father in law puts up the chairs before sunrise. Jensen and I usually come home with all kinds of surprises. Pineapple cola? I always look forward to seeing a number of friends. Kudos to Scott & Becky and their SANDLOT float. That was outstanding. One of these days I will dress up and participate. Promise.

Jensen is really jacked up for the tournament. He is at a fun age and has watched every single regional game on ESPN. His All-Star squad will play a friendly exhibition against a team from Brownsville, Indiana over the weekend. He is so excited to make a few new friends and exchange some pins. We are scheduled to play at the Original Field where it all started. Jensen also got the call to this year’s MLB Classic. Yes. The Hepburn Lycoming Little League’s Major teams were all invited to see the Pirates battle the Cubs at Historic Bowman. What a grand experience. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. I’m good as I got to attend last year. Kayak anyone?

Please enjoy the 2019 Little League World Series and I encourage my fellow residents to be courteous and warm to those who are visiting. Lycoming County is a beautiful and special place for many of reasons. Let’s show the world what we are all about. Play Ball. Cheers.
