Sally J. Lowrey, 83

Sally J. Lowrey, 83

Sally J. Lowrey, 83, of South Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport.

Born January 9, 1941, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Delbert M. and Claire L. (Losch) Lowrey.

Sally grew up in Williamsport, where she attended the Williamsport Area School District. Sally was a familiar and friendly face in the cafeteria at Litton Industries, for 25 years, where her warmth and kindness made the lunchroom a brighter place. She later went on to work a fulfilling role at Any Event Party Planning for more than ten years.

Her interests were as varied as they were engaging. Sally had a love for jigsaw puzzles, always having one in progress, which reflected her patient approach to lifeás challenges. She found joy in adult paint-by-number sets and coloring books, creating vibrant artworks that mirrored her colorful and bright personality, and collecting frogs and monkeys. Sally also knitted and crafted beautiful counted cross-stitch pieces, which she lovingly shared with friends and family.

Sallyás family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her two sisters, Pat L. Brockway of South Williamsport and Cindy L. Ashley (Jim) of Henrietta, NY; four nieces and nephews, Laura B. Shook (Brian), Scott A. Brockway (Michele), Matthew R. Sherman (Rachel), and Jonathan A. Sherman. She took great pride in her role as a great-aunt to Kevin A. Shook (Sarah), Holly M. King (Jim), Geneva and Dalton Johnson, Dallas and Gianna Brockway, and Noah, Susanna, Ellie and Hailey Sherman; her great-great-nieces and nephews Chloe, Logan, Lilyanna Shook and Jimmy King, also held a special place in her heart; and five cherished cousins.

A funeral service to honor the life of Sally will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
