Robert L. “Bob” Zuber, 84

Robert L. “Bob” Zuber, of Williamsport, passed away at UPMC Susquehanna-Williamsport, on Monday, April 30, 2018, surrounded by his family. Surviving is his wife of 64 years Katy M. (Garman) Zuber, whom he married December 19, 1953.

Born November 29, 1933 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Warren and Dorothy M. (Baker) Zuber.
Bob attended Williamsport High School and enlisted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the 555th Field Artillery during the Korean War. He retired from Trimtex in 1999 as a supervisor and after retirement was an escort driver for High Steel, which he still currently enjoyed doing.
Bob was a member of Wings of Love Church. He loved antique John Deere tractors. Bob was an avid collector of railroad memorabilia, particularly S&NY Railroad. He collected Williamsport area post cards and enjoyed refinishing old furniture. Bob enjoyed going to the family cabin in Nordmont where he spent many great times with his family.

In addition to his wife, Katy, he is survived by a son-in-law David J. Steinbacher of Collomsville, five grandchildren; Aimee Hannan (Dan), Eric Steinbacher (Amelia Nason), Joslyn Dougherty (Matt), and Benjamin and Timothy Steinbacher; nine great-grandchildren, John and James Hannan, Kaelyn and Vivian Steinbacher, Kaitlyn, Noah and Gabriel Dougherty, Giovanni and Farrah Steinbacher; two brothers, William Zuber of Newtown and George Zuber of Denton, and a sister, Sally Folmar of Milford, NJ.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by daughter, Karen E. Steinbacher on Nov. 26, 2009 and a granddaughter Molly Hannan.

A funeral service to Honor the Life of Bob will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Williamsport Assembly of God Church, 1230 Sherman Street, Williamsport. Burial will be held at Wildwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary and from 9:45-10:15 am Friday at Willamsport Assembly of God Church.
