Robert J. Heckrote, 91, of Montoursville, died April 4, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1926 in Hazelton, the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Marcovich) Heckrote.

Robert was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his woodshop, golfing, the outdoors, spending time with his family, and was an avid Penn State fan.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Joan S. Reese; three sons, Robert J. (Joan) Heckrote of Conestoga, Richard J. (Cindy) Heckrote of Schuylkill Haven, and Roger J. (Rose) Heckrote of Liberty; nine grandchildren, Roger J. (Steph) Heckrote, Allisen M. (Greg) King, Rebecca J. (Joe) Monte, Richard J. (Maureen) Heckrote, Nathan T. (Lynelle) Heckrote, Robert J. (Ashley) Heckrote, Brynn M. Heckrote, Lauren R. (Jason Lenahan) Heckrote, and Kelcey M. Heckrote, and five great-grandchildren, Ramey, Vale, Brooklyn, Rohnik, and Patrick.

A memorial service will be held, 11 a.m., Monday, April 9 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 369 Broad Street, Montoursville with Rev. David B. Letscher officiating. Friends and family will be received in the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran church or American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
