Richard L. Hartman, 93

Richard L. Hartman, 93, of Woolrich, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.

Born February 15, 1931 in Philipsburg, he was the only child to the late David E. and Ruth Pritchard Hartman.

Richard was a 1949 graduate of Philipsburg High School and later obtained his Airplane and Engine Certification.

Following graduation, he was employed for a short time at Piper Aircraft before enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1955. After his honorable discharge he returned to Lock Haven and continued his employment at Piper Aircraft, retiring after 35 years of service.

Richard married the love of his life, the former Anna M. Coval, who survives.

He enjoyed spending time on his boat. He especially enjoyed his time on the water at Sayers Dam and Raystown Dam, where he and his wife would often travel to their vacation cottage. When he was home, he’d be often found tinkering around the house and working on small projects.

In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by two children, James Hartman of Lock Haven and Dr. Nancy Hartman of Long Island, NY.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with private burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
