Rhea M. Keen, 96, formerly of Flemington, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Eagle Ridge Personal Care Home, Mill Hall.
She was born in Flemington on October 7, 1921, the daughter of the late George and Elmira Cook Kline.
Rhea was a 1939 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On December 24, 1939 at the Flemington United Methodist Church, she married Ernest R. Keen, whom preceded her in death on April 19, 2011.
Rhea worked at Montgomery Ward of Lock Haven from 1955 to 1961, First National Bank of Lock Haven from 1963 to 1964, Hammermill Paper Company from 1964 to 1965 and served as secretary at the former Trinity United Methodist Church of Lock Haven from 1968 to 1981.
She was currently a member at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Flemington.
Rhea enjoyed sewing, spending time outdoor and doing crafts – especially basket weaving. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by a son, Craig and Amy Keen of Mill Hall; two daughters, Pat and John Fleck of Port Matilda and Bobbie Jean and Bill Guerriero of Mechanicsburg; ten grandchildren, Amanda and Jordan Nyman, Kimberly Motter and Dr. Alan McNally, Karen and Rod Jarosz, Phil and Sonna Guerriero, Cathy and Pete Lee, Leigh and Nick Kolish, Ashley and Justin Price, Loni and Robbie Risley, Nora and Larry Whatley and John L. Fleck; fifteen great grandchildren, Ashely and Christopher McNally, Whitney Jarosz, Samuel and Grace Motter, Shaynia and Samantha Guerriero, Taylor and Alexcia Kolish, Emily and Tyler Price, Conner and Morgan Nyman, Kevin Whatley and William Keeney Lee; and two great-grandchilden, Brennan Ryan and Liam Guerriero.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rhea was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Harold, Ray and Paul Kline; a sister, Elizabeth Packer; a grandson, Michael Motter; and a great granddaughter, MacKenzie Jarosz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:30a.m. at the Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rhea’s niece, Rev. Lisa Mitchell officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10:30a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Ross Library for the purchasing of large print books or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
