Mel’s retirement was as active as his career, reflecting his diverse interests. He achieved a lifelong dream by earning a sport pilot’s license and took to the skies with an ultra-light plane he built himself. Earthbound pursuits included motorcycle riding, kayaking, and cultivating his vegetable garden. His adventurous spirit was evident in travels, such as visiting the World’s Fair in Toronto with his wife and their frequent trips to Florida. He was very involved in various Bible studies over the years, including leading multiple Alpha Bible Studies. His involvement in his community spanned his entire career and his retirement, from serving as a volunteer EMT to helping folks in need with a ride, home repairs or even just a listening ear.
Above all, Reverend Bole will be remembered for his unwavering commitment as a caregiver to his wife and his profound impact on the lives he touched. A man of deep conviction and gentle spirit, Mel’s presence was a blessing to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and the enduring love of his extended family and friends.
