Lydia L. Roupp, 99

Lydia L. Roupp, 99, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at UPMC – Susquehanna Williamsport, surrounded by her family and just two weeks shy of celebrating her 100th Birthday.

Born March 30, 1918 in Roaring Branch, she was a daughter of Frederick and Ida (Antes) Reed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Grant O. Roupp, Jr. in 1996, a son Gary A. Roupp on Dec. 9, 2017, and 16 siblings.

She was a 1936 graduate of Liberty High School and retired from Bailey Control Company. Lydia was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Helping Hands Sunday School Class, and helped with many activities of the church. She enjoyed baking especially pies for everyone. Lydia enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and reading. Her greatest love was being with her family.

Surviving are three children Faye Cortright (Ron), Debra Shilling (Steve), and Dennis Roupp (Tammy) all of Cogan Station, a daughter-in-law Nancy R. Roupp of Williamsport, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren, a sister Betty Reibson of Forksville, and two brothers James and Dan Reed both of Linden.

A funeral service to honor the life of Lydia will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 19 at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Sanders Mortuary.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made in Lydia’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
