Lottie L. Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, just 18 days shy of her 95th birthday.
Lottie was a lifelong resident of White Deer Pike and was a 1950 graduate of Muncy High School. She dedicated many years to her career at Masonite, retiring in 1991.
She was the loving wife of James A. Smith Jr., who preceded her in death in 2004. Lottie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved nothing more than having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gathered close around her. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and family memories that will be treasured for generations.
Lottie is survived by her seven children: James (Dilbert) Smith and his wife, Cindy, of Kyle, Texas; Ellen Smith of New Columbia; Susan Smith- Milley and her husband, Jack, of Allenwood; Tammy Glen of New Columbia; Robin (Bo) Smith and his wife, Jenn, of Milton; Dora Seese-Reedy and her husband, Randy, of New Columbia; and John Smith and his wife, Sharon, of New Columbia.
She leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a cherished part of her life.
Lottie was a member of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church and the White Deer Park Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles and word finds, and watching her favorite television programs, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She found simple pleasures in everyday life and especially enjoyed the time spent with the people she loved.
Lottie will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to those around her, and the countless memories she created throughout her 94 years. Her legacy lives on through the many generations of family she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.
There will be a memorial service held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26 at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 2155 White Deer Pike, New Columbia, PA 17856.
In lieu of flowers Lottie’s wish was for anyone to perform an act of kindness.
