Leo J. “Butch” Hiller, 77

Leo J. “Butch” Hiller, 77, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2026.

He was born on December 9, 1949 in Williamsport, a son to the late Leo E. and Dorothy (Bennett) Hiller.

He married to the former Virginia “Ginny” Palmer on July 25, 1980, and together they celebrated 43 years before her passing on July 6, 2023.

Leo “Butch” was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War where he was wounded in action twice while serving in the US Army 101st Airborne Division, receiving the Purple Heart and other commendations for his service to our country.

Leo was an avid outdoorsman, and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his two sisters, Barbara (Tim) Arnold of Lewisburg and Linda (Bill) McCormick George of Montoursville; as well as brother-in-law Darryl Blair of Cogan Station.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Butch was preceded in death by sister Mary Ann Blair and nephew Jared Blair.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at St. Boniface Cemetery, Penn & Wyoming Streets, Williamsport PA 17701 at 12:30pm on September 25, 2026 with Rev. Dias officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions be made in Butch’s name to Lycoming County Hometown Heroes , 33 W. Third St., 2nd Floor, Williamsport PA 17701.  (Checks may be made to LCHH)
