Karen Barbara Heitsenrether, 68

Karen Barbara Heitsenrether, 68, of Montoursville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the National Institute of Health in Maryland.

Karen was born in Passaic, N.J., on May 15, 1951, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Violet B. (Sudol) Lelek.

She was a graduate of Montoursville High School and of the former WACC, now Pennsylvania College of Technology. She was an administrative assistant at PP&L.

Karen was a charter member of the Montoursville Lioness Club. One of her favorite activities with the Lioness’ was calling bingo at Valley View Nursing Center. Karen was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She also enjoyed traveling, but lived to spend time with her grandchildren.

She and her husband, Daniel Wayne Heitsenrether, would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on Aug. 18, 2019. Surviving in addition to her husband are their son, Brent Daniel Heitsenrether, daughter, Amy Barbara McArthur, and her husband, Daniel W. McArthur; grandchildren, Benjamin Douglas Heitsenrether, Adam John Heitsenrether, Avery Jacob McArthur, Gabriel Maddux McArthur, Isla Rebecca McArthur and Lily J. McArthur; and a sister, Eileen Graham.

The family will receive friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St., Montoursville, with her pastor, Rev. Michael S. McCormick, officiating. Burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery.
