Jean Nora (Oyster) Paternostro of Williamsport passed away at Heritage Springs Memory Care on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the age of 92.

She was born March 31, 1934 in Lewisburg, PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Cotner) Oyster.

She graduated from Williamsport High School class of 1952. Jean was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and married the love of her life, Joseph L. Paternostro in August of 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church by Father Gillis, they enjoyed 68 years of marriage, he passed away October 4, 2020.

Jean with the help of Tommy Barger of the YMCA, in the late 40s, organized the first junior bowling league in Williamsport. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also loved to crochet and knit.

She is survived by five daughters and two sons; Ann M. Root of Manheim, Cindy Allegrucci (Thomas) of Mesa, AZ, Thomas Paternostro (Cindy) of Montoursville, Mary Sutkins (Tim) of Williamsport, Michael Paternostro (Leslie) of South Williamsport, Tina Paternostro (Molly) of Greece, NY, Linda Moyer (Todd) of Williamsport; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husband, two sons, Robert F. and Joseph R. Paternostro and a son-in-law, Kim Root preceded her in death.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 9:45 to 10:45 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. with her pastor, Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating, burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Jean’s name be made to; ASL Management LLC. (the former Heritage Springs) for the benefit of the activities committee, 878 Old Cement Rd., Muncy, PA 17756.
