Howard E. Campbell, 75

Howard E. Campbell, 75, of Barbours, passed away on December 20, 2021 at The Gatehouse.

He was born August 7, 1946 in Barbours, son of the late Alvin E. and Margaret (Lewis) Campbell.

Howard retired after 44 years of service from the former Stroehman Bakeries. He was a member of Loyalsock Baptist Church and served as Deacon, bible school leader, and was very active in church activities. He was also a member of Plunketts Creek Recreation Association. Howard enjoyed baking cakes, especially wedding cakes, canning, his hummingbirds, and spotting deer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Guy and Alvin Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Mildred A. Thompson; his children, Ronald (Wendy) Campbell, and Kristina (Ted) Rubright; brothers, Charles (Judy) Campbell, James (Ellen) Campbell, Harry (Karen) Campbell, and Clifford (Barbara) Campbell; sisters, Lois (Jim) Thomas, Anna Smith, and Cathy (Shannon) Weidler; grandchildren, Aaron (Melinda) Campbell, Andrew (Fiancé Colleen Eliff) Rubright, Hunter (Cassandra Manheimer) Rubright, Megan (Tom) Boatman, and Kera (Antoine) Indaco; and great-grandchildren, Remington Campbell, and Breeah Boatman.

There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Loyalsock Baptist Church, 107 Dunwoody Road, Williamsport, with Pastor Mark A. Passmore officiating. A burial will follow in Barbours Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home.
