Gail L. Hetzendorf, 85

Gail L. Hetzendorf, 85, of Turbotville, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at her home.

Born April 25, 1941 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late John and Mercedes (Bioletti) Lins.  On September 3, 1960 she married John E. Hetzendorf Sr. and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Gail was a 1959 graduate of Coal Township High School.  She worked as the Activities Director for Kramm’s Nursing Home in Watsontown for a period of time.  In the late 1970s she was a PIAA Field Hockey Official.  Gail also previously served on the Turbotville Borough Council, where she served as President.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a local 4-H leader for many years.  Gail enjoyed painting, creating art, and reading.  She was very active on the Turbotville Playground Committee.

In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her son: John E. Hetzendorf Jr and his wife Amber, of Wichita, KS; two daughters: Debora A. Finan and her husband Joseph, of Coal Twp., and Marsha L. Hauck and her husband Jerry, of Ducktown, TN; three grandchildren: Jack, Max Hetzendorf, and Damon Yocum; and one sister: Denise Ippolito, of Hagerstown, MD.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Lins.

There will be a visitation held from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, August 22, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville, where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM with her pastor, Rev. Erwin C. Roux, officiating.
