Gabrielle J. (Gay) Smith entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior at 2:23am on October 13, 2025, at her home in Mifflinburg, PA.

She was born on July 16, 1933 to Clarence and Esther Packer Smith at the Williamsport Hospital. She graduated from Lock Haven High School and went on to work at Montgomery Mills as a braider for 25 years, along with other various factory jobs.

During that time, she raised her two children: a son Dalton (Debbie) Smith of Loyalsock and a daughter Brenda Smith, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Gay retired to become a full time Gram to Dalton and Debbie’s daughters: Stacey Lee, of Hughesville, Corrine (Jay) Widdop, of Loyalsock, and Paige Smith (Titus Burkholder), of Mifflinburg. Her granddaughters would often fake being sick at school so they could hang out with Gram for the day. She cherished her family more than anything.

In addition to the loved ones named above, Gay leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren: Madison, Garrett, Mace, and Zane, along with her 3 beloved dogs: Lilly, Missy and Dexter.

Her hobbies included watching Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football, collecting baseball cards, and taking in animals that needed homes. She had dozens of dogs in her lifetime, always offering her home to strays when they needed a warm meal and a place to sleep.

She became “Gram” to everyone she met and was a warm presence to all who knew her. She will be unexplainably missed by her family.

The family would like to thank UPMC Family Hospice for their care and guidance over her final few months.
