Florence “Babe” G. Bailey, 103

Florence “Babe” G. Bailey died peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of January 29, 2024. Babe was the last child of Christian and Gertrude Mauer of Woolrich, PA. Born on July 18, 1920, Babe blessed this earth with 103 years of life.

Babe was married to Thomas “Rex” Bailey on December 27, 1945 after his return from World War II, and they spent 47 happy years together prior to his death in 1992.

Babe enjoyed gardening, walking outdoors, and spending time with her sisters. She was a talented embroiderer and together with her sisters created dozens of beautiful quilts that her family still enjoys. Babe was also a lover of animals, always enjoying cats and raising chickens for many decades.

Surviving are one son, Neil T. Bailey of Woolrich; two granddaughters Stacy (Bailey) Winslow and Tammi (Bailey) Young; and three great-grandchildren Delaney (Winslow) Biester, Shelby Winslow, and Jaiden Young.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Susan Champion of the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Mill Hall.
