Dorothy “Dottie” Plocinski, 90

Dorothy “Dottie” Plocinski, 90, of Montoursville, died April 21, 2018, in the Muncy Valley Hospital. Dottie was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 7, 1927, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Gusher Cembrock.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montoursville. She served as volunteer on many church projects as well as being a Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer for the Willing Hand Hose Co. No. 1 Auxiliary and a 20 year volunteer with the Divine Providence Hospital and was a member of Montoursville Senior Citizens.

Dorothy retired from the food service department at Montoursville High School.

She was a graduate of Hanover Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre and is survived by sons, Donald, of Williamsport and Edward, of the Pittsburgh area and their families; and a daughter, Geri (Michael) Mertes, of Williamsport. Also surviving is a sister, Mary O’Herko and brother, Frank Cembrock, both of Hanover Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter and love of her life Kelly Rae Mertes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. There will be no visitation and burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

In lieu of flowers and memorial contributions in Dottie’s name may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 800 Mulberry St., Montoursville, PA 17754 or to a charity of your choice.
