Doris M. Baysore, 90

Doris M. Baysore, 90, of Muncy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Muncy Place.

Born February 19,1934 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Sarah E. (Aunkst) Wertz. She and her husband, Del R. Baysore, celebrated 45 years of marriage before his death on August 15, 2014.

Doris was homeschooled by her mother. She worked for 26 years at Montgomery Mills until 1978 when she went to work for Brelsford Transportation, and later as a home health aide.

She was a member of the New Life Church, Pennsdale, and was also the organist for many years.

Doris started singing with her sisters at the age of 16. They sang in a country band called The Harmony Sisters, later called Tiny, Dot and The Playboy Pals. They also had their own radio spot on WLYC at Williamsport in the late 40’s and early 50’s. She also loved writing poems and vacationing in Cape May, NJ.

Surviving are her four daughters, Kathie (Kahle) and Bill Bashista, Jr., of Montgomery, Jeanne Kahle-Potts, of Muncy, Sherry (Kahle) and Clark Strayer, of Muncy, and LuAnne (Baysore) and Rod Magargle, of Muncy; 14 Grandchildren, Ron and Chris Heckel, Ryan and Nicole Heckel, Bill Bashista III, Matt and Christie Bashista, Joshua Brelsford, Caleb and Nyoka Brelsford, Kahle and Lisa Brelsford, Adam Potts, Jarhett Potts, Elisha and Tony Cruz, Faith and Brett Miller, Clark and Beth Strayer, Jr., Shane and Samantha Strayer, Dori Savage and Fiancé Ryan Sanders; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, Herman, Charles, Leonard, Marvin and Kenneth; three sisters, Bernadine Miles, Ruth Byers and Dorothy Harman.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the New Life Church, 1006 Village Road, Pennsdale, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Lauver officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Doris’s name be sent to New Life Church.
