Diane M. Damaska, 77

Diane M. Damaska, 77, of Williamsport, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Helen Damaska.

Diane graduated from St. Joseph School and Lycoming College. She was a devoted teacher at St. Lawrence and St. Joseph School for many years. She worked for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Diane also worked at Williamsport Hospital as a chaplain assistant and volunteered as a eucharistic minister at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where she was also a member.

Above all else, she was devoted to her family, students, friends and her church. Diane was a caregiver for her mother for many years and her sister after her recent surgery. She was a caring teacher, for over 30 years, who was respected by her students. She shared her life with several wonderful dogs.

Diane is survived by a sister, Patricia Damaska; four nephews, Steven (Debbie) and David Damaska, Russell and Joseph Cirinelli; a sister-in-law, Mary Damaska; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by a brother, William Damaska.

Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 8:30am to 9:45am at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport with the Reverend David W. Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Diane was a selfless and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her.
