Dan A. Winder, Sr., 84, of Hughesville, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Wolf Run Village.
Born December 4, 1940, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Grover and Nina (Freezer) Winder. He and his spouse Dona, of 59 years, shared a wonderful life. After high school, Dan enlisted into the Marines in 1958 and served honorably until his discharge in 1961. Following his military career, he worked as a lineman for PPL Electric Utilities for 39 years before retiring in 2002. Dan was a huge Detroit Lions fan who never missed watching a game.
He is survived by his wife, Dona Winder, of Hughesville; two daughters, Crystal (Steven) Fisher, of Hughesville, and Tammy (Todd) Scarborough, of Sanford, N.C.; a son, Dan (Kimberly) Winder, of Hughesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Robert (Judy) Winder of Williamsport and a sister Kathy Foulk of Virginia Beach, VA.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be held privately.
