Cecil C. Paulhamus, 85

Cecil C. Paulhamus, 85

Cecil C. Paulhamus, 85, of Linden, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 unexpectedly at home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara J. Paulhamus on June 24, 2024.

Born August, 19, 1940 in Williamsport he was a son of the late Romaine and Bertha (Stroble) Paulhamus.

Cecil was self-employed for many years as the owner and operator of Paulhamus Garage, faithfully serving his community for over 30 years. He later worked for a short time at Kinley Subaru before becoming a school bus driver. A devoted member of Walnut Street Baptist Church, Cecil led the men’s prayer devotional and volunteered his time in the school thrift store.

A man of strong faith, Cecil lived his life with a positive Christian attitude and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Cecil was never afraid to speak his mind when he felt it was needed, but he always did so with a gentle spirit and a caring heart.

Cecil found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid gardener who took pride in tending his flower beds, and he enjoyed cooking, hunting, reading history books, and always having a puzzle spread out that he was working to complete. He had a wonderful sense of humor, could tell a story like no other, and cherished every moment spent with his family. Of all the roles he held in life, being “Pappy” was among the ones he treasured most.

Surviving are his three children, Edward M. Paulhamus (Rea) of Linden, Dennis L. Paulhamus (Kamala) of Cogan Station, and Brenda K. Campbell (Richard) of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren Andrew (Chelsea), Ashley (Andrew), Alicia (Cody), Austin (Jordyn), Elizabeth (Nate), Lyle, and Leah; nine great-grandchildren Theodore, Eden, Maelee, Jaylynn, Alexander, Mark, Raleigh, Colt, Kathryn plus two on the way; and a sister, Mary Ellen Hyde (Wayne) of Hughesville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Shiloh and Savannah and a brother, Dean Paulhamus.

A funeral service to honor the life of Cecil will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 18 at Walnut Street Baptist Church, 201 W. Highland St, Avis with Pastor George Grossman officiating. A viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 pm at the church. Burial will be held 4:15 p.m. at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Cemetery 1877 St. Michaels Rd., Cogan Station.
