Betty L. Rosencrans, 98

Betty L. Rosencrans, 98, of Montoursville, died Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Nottingham Village. Born January 3, 1926, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Raymond C. and Eleanor T. (Tebbs) Gee. Betty married John P. Rosencrans on August 12, 1946, and shared 65 years of marriage.

Betty and her husband, Jack, opened Rosencrans’ Bakery on Broad Street, Montoursville in 1956. Betty was quite an athlete. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis, swimming, helping her sons practice baseball, and did her stretching exercises every morning into her 90’s.

The family would like to thank the Nottingham Memory Care staff for their attentive care over the last year. The Geisinger Hospice folks were wonderful. We also are grateful for the quality time that Crystal Bowersox spent with Betty during the three years she resided in Northumberland with Tom and Jina. The entire Rosencrans family especially offers sincere appreciation to Jennifer Gillis-Rosencrans for the dedicated, loving care she provided for Betty during the pandemic years. The attention and guidance she offered was exceptional.

Betty is survived by sons; James Michael Rosencrans, of Montoursville, Thomas J. (Jennifer) Rosencrans, of Northumberland, Richard L. (Barbara) Rosencrans, of Montoursville; grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, Hannah, Casey Rosencrans; great grandchildren, Ethan, Carter, Bella Rosencrans.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Rosencrans, on June 27, 2012.

A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Montoursville Cemetery, with Pastor Martin Coffey officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty~Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
