Barbara A. (Kile) Roupp, 88

Barbara A. (Kile) Roupp, 88, of Canton, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at her daughter’s home and under the care of Guthrie Hospice.

Born November 14, 1935, in Columbia County, Pa., she was a daughter of Oliver D. and Lydia A. (Temple) Kile. In 1974, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Herriman. After remarrying, she was also preceded by her second husband, Max E. Roupp on September 1, 2000.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time in the garden and planting flowers, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was previously employed by Fry’s Turkey Ranch, Grasso’s Restaurant and housekeeping for many customers in the Steam Valley area. She formerly attended the Steam Valley Bible Church and most recently the Grover Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Herman “David”) Richart, of Canton; six grandsons, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; four siblings: Belva Tollman, of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Robert (Jean) Kile, of Hughesville, Pauline Eichenlaub, of Montoursville, and Oliver Romaine Kile, of Trout Run.

In addition to both her husbands, Barbara was preceded in death a son, Roger Herriman; and three siblings: George Kile, Beverly Eichenlaub, and Dale “Junior” Kile.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Will Strunk, officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin “Stone Heap” Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Dementia Society of America.
