“Black Bears”
What: Join the park naturalist at the table to learn more about the “Black Bears” around Pennsylvania. Topics will include adaptations, diet, and a brief overview of the natural history of the black bear within PA. This is designed to be an informal program. Feel free to stop on in anytime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.. All children must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. Meet at the Contact Station.

Where: Little Pine State Park, Contact Station.
“Moon and Mountain Pies”
What: Enjoy an evening walk on the dam to see and learn about the rising moon in “Moon and Mountain Pies.” Topics will include the moon phases, some folklore, and other stars and constellations that are in the sky. On the other side of the dam, there will be a fire ring set up to make mountain pies on. This program is limited to 15 people, and pre-registration is required to participate. A confirmation e-mail will be sent after registered. If you have not received it, call 570-753-6005. Cost is $10 per person. Registration shall end on Friday, July 24th at 11:59 AM. All children must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Program may be modified in the event of cloudy weather or new community guidelines. Rain or other severe weather will cancel the program. Meet at the beginning of Lake Shore Trail (Kiosk at Top of Dam).

“Annual Hyner History Happenings”
What: Join the naturalist and guest speakers for a good late morning and afternoon of local history. There will be five programs dealing with the local history of the area including a CCC Program which is ongoing from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and will be presented by Rich Wykoff, Education and Outreach Administrator for Lumber Heritage Region. Also, a General History of the Area will be ongoing from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. It will include some interesting stories and folklore around the Hyner area. An ongoing logging program will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. It will be about the logging industry in the area and some of the tools used. Another ongoing program will be a program consisting of branding tree cookies for a memento to take home from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and will be presented by Hyner Run campground hosts. 11 a.m.-3 p.m., an ongoing program about Artifacts will be presented. Feel free to come to all programs or go to some and take a dip in the pool. All children must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the program. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. All programs will be held on the lawn near the amphitheater (by the pool).

Breakfast Buffet
What: Muncy Lodge No. 299 F & A.M. invites the community to an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, scrapple, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, plus hot and cold beverages. Proceeds support the lodge’s local charitable outreach. Cost: adults – $15; seniors, veterans & first responders – $13; children (ages 6–12) – $10; children 5 & under – free.
