Audubon Event: Dales Ridge Bird Walk
What: All are welcome to join a birding adventure in Union County! There are two well maintained walking paths: the lower one does not lose sight of historic Buffalo Creek with beautifully aged trees; the upper trail gently ascends past cultivated fields, cuts thru dense brush, and power line cuts entice the walker to pause for field birds and raptors before descending through a managed forest which then opens up to two overlooks providing miles of viewing.

What: Skyline Drive is closed to vehicular traffic, but the paved road is walkable, gently ascending the slope of Bald Eagle Mountain. We expect to see and hear resident birds of a typical mixed PA forest, including spring warblers. Towards the mountain top, tree species change, and the vistas of the West Branch valley are a treat. All are welcome to join!

Audubon Event: Broad-winged Hawk Project / Chapter Meeting
What: We welcome you to join us for a presentation from Rebecca McCabe, a Research Biologist at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Her research focuses broadly on movement and nesting ecology, and she is involved in numerous long-term studies including broad-winged hawks, snowy owls, and American kestrels. We will learn about the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary’s efforts to study the fall annual cycle to better understand the threats and conservation needs for this long-distance migration.

Audubon Event: Farrandsville Bird Walk
What: Join us on a trip to Clinton County to explore the mixed habitat area near the Susquehanna River! We hope to find a variety of warblers including Louisiana Waterthrush, Northern Parula, Canada, Cerulean, and Worm-eating. We also hope to catch a glimpse of Scarlet tanager, Hermit Thrush, and perhaps Red-breasted Nuthatch or Woodland Raptors!

Audubon Event: Broad-winged Hawk Project / Chapter Meeting
What: We welcome you to join us for a presentation from Rebecca McCabe, a Research Biologist at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Her research focuses broadly on movement and nesting ecology, and she is involved in numerous long-term studies including broad-winged hawks, snowy owls, and American kestrels. We will learn about the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary’s efforts to study the fall annual cycle to better understand the threats and conservation needs for this long-distance migration.
