Who wants to go to another conference? Same old stuffy panels, keynote speakers who almost get it, and endless “networking” hours that feel more like torture.
That’s why Covation Center, Downtown Williamsport’s business incubator and coworking space, is throwing its fourth Small Business UnCon on October 19, 2026, at the Holiday Inn in Williamsport. The idea is simple: UnCon attendees design the event offerings in real time, based on their real struggles, interests and businesses.
The day begins with a brainstorming session and breakfast. Attendees are invited to select from a pre-seeded set of topics or add their own using — what else? — Sharpies and sticky notes. Several small business leaders will act as facilitators throughout the day as attendees break off into smaller groups that will explore topics of greatest interest or use.
Previous years’ UnCons have been a touch more Con than Un, with a slightly more traditional structure and several keynote speakers. Still, business owners come away feeling motivated, inspired, and seen. Katie Caputo, founder of Rambler, said: “If you are a business considering attending the unconference this year, I would highly recommend it. No matter what stage your business is in. I went to the UnCon thinking every single business owner there had it all figured out and they were super successful, and I walked away realizing that all businesses struggle and need to pivot.”
This year’s UnCon goes further still by engaging an Un-Keynote speaker whose role will be to continue to spark conversations and sharing between new and seasoned entrepreneurs in the time between sessions and lead an afternoon discussion session for everyone.

The UnCon is the intersection of data and networking, and it happens organically, so it’s also really fun.”
