155th Lycoming County Fair Takes Place July 8 to 18

If you enjoy good food, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, great grandstand shows, agricultural displays, and arts and crafts, the 155th Lycoming County Fair in Hughesville is the place to be.

County fairs like the Lycoming County Fair started as events where local farmers showed their best livestock and crops. Over time, they have grown into much more, and the Lycoming County Fair is no exception.

Here is the schedule of events for this year’s fair.

The fair opens on July 8 at 4 p.m., and rides start at 5 p.m.

July 9: will be highlighted by Twilight Harness Racing beginning at 4 p.m. There is a livestock supply auction at 6 p.m. at the Red Dog Mobil Storage Stage

That day also marks the start of entertainment at the Red Dog Mobile Storage Stage.

On July 10: “Bull Ride Mania” kicks off with Bulls and Barrels at 6:30 p.m. There will also be Kid’s Mutton Busting, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding.

The Amelia Earhart Funway will be busy with Startire Entertainment, Pig Races, the Hughesville High School Theater Club, and “Magic with Miss Ashlyn.”

The Red Dog Mobile Storage Stage will feature “Dan and Galla” at 6 and 8 p.m.

July 11: will have the Tommy Hendricks Memorial Demolition Derby in the Grandstand area at 5 p.m. The Derby will have the categories of Pro Stock V-8, Vans Demos, Queens Clash Demos, Stocks Compacts Demo, and Youth Demo.

The Earhart Funway and the Red Dog Mobile Stage will once again offer fun and entertainment.

July 12: features Demolition Derby and Figure 8 Races beginning at 5 p.m. in the Grandstand area.

The Earhart Funway will be lively, and the Red Dog Mobile Stage will host Dan and Galla at 2, 4, and 7 p.m.

July 13: A big day for entertainment; with musical entertainment in the Grandstand area by “American Idol” performer, Issac Cole at 7 p.m. and a free concert by “Heartstrings” at 6 p.m.

On the Red Dog Mobile Stage, “October Rose” will perform at 6 and 8 p.m.

The Earhart Funway will also have a variety of activities.

July 14: features a big night of “Live Pro Wrestling” beginning at 7 p.m.

It’s also “Youth Day,” with $2 admission.

At 9:30 a.m., the Amelia Earhart Funway will have “Children’s Story Hour.”

The Red Dog Mobile Stage features Frank and Kathi Delucca at 6 and 8 p.m.

July 15: The Mini-School Bus Demo Derby is the main event on July 15 at 7 p.m. It will include First Timers, Compact Demo, Derby, and Figure 8 Racing.

There will also be a Double Tree Tractor Pull at 4:30 p.m. at the Pulling Track.

Logan Route will perform on the Red Dog Stage at 6 and 8 p.m.

July 16: is “Military Appreciation Day” with free admission with a valid ID, rides are not included. Red Dog Mobile Storage Stage has “Autumn and Mitch” at 6 and 8 p.m.

July 17: is a big day for tractor fans, with the “Dale Wheeland Memorial Tractor Pull” at 6 p.m.

The Red Dog Stage features “Elijah Ward and Band” at 6 and 8 p.m.

July 18: the last day of the fair, features the 16th Annual PATPA 4×4 and Diesel Track Pull.

Mack Berry will be the entertainment at the Red Dog Mobile Stage at 6 and 8 p.m.

Admission to the fair is $4, kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult. A 10 day gate pass is available for $30.

Park on the fairgrounds is $4 with handicapped parking next to gate entrances and wheelchair and scooter rentals are available.

There’s something for everyone at this year’s Lycoming County Fair, so be sure to come out, have some fun, play some games, ride some rides and of course — enjoy some of the great food! Don’t forget to check out all the animals and livestock and the great artwork from local students!
