First and foremost, before I get started on one of my favorite articles, I need to apologize for not having an article in last week’s paper.
Here is what happened. I wrote one as usual and sent it in by the Thursday before. That following Tuesday, my momma texted me to ask where my article was in the paper. I was just thinking she must be missing it, but she and my stepdad both looked and nothing.
I texted Steph, and here the week prior, she sent all of her writers an email saying she would be away at the end of that following week, so articles were due early. Well, because I get so much junk mail anymore in my email, I completely missed the memo and turned it in too late.
Boy, did people get in a panic. I had so many messages and people asking where my article was. I promise I wouldn’t just stop writing like that. I have been with the Webb for six years next month and have never missed a week, so I can see why everyone was concerned. I’m back, and you aren’t getting rid of me that easy!
Now, let me tell you about my Jesus!!
Easter is quickly approaching — it seems unreal. Pretty soon, fireworks will be shooting across the sky, pumpkins will be glowing in the night, and it will be Thanksgiving.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Life goes quickly, and through this crazy life, we are all living, I am so glad I have Jesus right by my side!
He makes a way where there ain’t no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He’s done for me
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah amen, amen
Let me tell you about my Jesus
Who would take my cross to Calvary?
Pay the price for all my guilty?
Who would care that much about me?
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus, oh
He makes a way where there ain’t no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He’s done for me
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life (change your life)
Hallelujah, let my Jesus change your life
These are just some of the lyrics from a song I love, “My Jesus,” by Anne Wilson. If you have never heard of it, look it up and give it a listen. It will move you.
Do you know how much Jesus loves you!? Like a whole ton. It doesn’t matter what you do; he will never stop loving you. Whether you cheated on your spouse, stole from someone, cussed out a person who cut you off on the way to work, murdered someone, lied, or have pride, envy, or hatred, he still loves you. You ask, “How can Jesus still love me? Or, “If Jesus really loved me, why did my loved one die of cancer?” I know it’s hard to wrap your head around, but Jesus’ love is so strong for us, and he is so forgiving. He wants us to come to him through the good times and bad.
During hard times, like watching one of our loved ones fight for their life with cancer, we need to lean on him. He wants us to come to him for anything and everything. It’s the hard times that make us grow closer to him! Life is not promised tomorrow. Just because Jesus is in our lives does not mean we will not have pain and suffering here on earth, but we are promised a beautiful life in eternity!
I am no Pastor. I’m just a girl who has gone to church since I was born. The older I get, the closer my relationship with the Lord is, and life hasn’t been easy. I still have bad days. But without bad days, how can we really appreciate the good ones?
Unfortunately, I can still get fired up and cuss at someone who cuts me off on the road. I have things in my past that I wish I could take back, but I know this one certain thing I did made me a better person because of it. It made me a more trusting person, and I would never do it again. We have to learn from our mistakes! I am thankful for that tough lesson many years ago. Do I know the bible like the back of my hand? I wish I could say yes, but I don’t.
I know Jesus made a blind man see. I know he brought a little girl back from the dead. He fed 5,000 people with two loaves of bread and two fish!! He made a lame man walk. Y’all, Jesus could have called on 10,000 angels to save him on that cross that he died on, but he didn’t because he did it for you and me! He rose up from the grave, folks!!! So we can live eternally with him forever and ever! He loves you and wants you to ask him to come into your heart. My Jesus can forever change your life and give you joy that you have never felt before. He gives you peace during hard times. Please. Jesus is knocking on your heart. Let him in. Let him change your life.
Amen, and Happy Easter.
Easter Bunny Platter
My cousin Lindsay Clark made this adorable bunny platter two Easters ago. It was made with strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, and string cheese for teeth and whiskers.
