SunnyBrook Meadows, 426 State Home Road is seeking volunteers to help with the 2024 riding season. Tucked into the beautiful countryside of Montgomery, PA, the non-profit riding center, Sunnybrook Meadows, has been offering therapeutic riding sessions for riders with special needs, traditional riding lessons, and horse boarding for over a decade.
As the spring riding season opens at the riding center, more hands are needed to maintain upkeep and help breathe new life into the stables. Rider safety as well as the horses; health and comfort are the top priority of the stable. SunnyBrook Meadows is dedicated to providing the best care for their horses, while enriching riders’ lives, and hands-on experiences to volunteers.
With 10 horses on site, volunteers are needed to help everything run smoothly. But, spending time at SunnyBrook Meadows offers more than mucking stalls, although that is essential. Volunteer positions include trail upkeep, stall work, office cleaning, clerical work, coordinating, arena cleaning, photography, flower bed care, and substitute volunteers. Hours logged at the stable can contribute towards expanding portfolios, gaining new skills, improving resumes, and finding new passions. Volunteers can work around the horses, assist outside or in the arena, or help with events.
SunnyBrook Meadows welcomes individuals, college groups, scouts programs, and more to come out and gain hands-on experience at the stables. All ages are encouraged to join us as well. Volunteers under 12 must have an adult accompany them.
