Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Presents “The King of Instruments: The Organ” Concert on February 13, 2024, at Community Arts Center.

The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gerardo Edelstein is thrilled to share its upcoming concert, “The King of Instruments: The Organ,” scheduled for February 13, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Arts Center (@caclive).

Join Maestro Edelstein and the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra for an enchanting evening featuring the mesmerizing sounds of the organ, one of the world’s most exquisite instruments. The concert will showcase the talents of guest organist Marcos Krieger, who will captivate the audience with a virtuosic performance.

Dr. Krieger will be performing G.F. Handel’s Organ Concerto “The Cuckoo and the Nightingale,” a masterful composition that highlights the organ’s majestic and powerful chords. Additionally, the program will include Symphony No. 3, “Organ Symphony” by Saint Saens, adding to the grandeur of the evening. Dr. Krieger is a Professor of Music at Susquehanna University who performed solo organ and harpsichord recitals in Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and in the USA.
Assistant Conductor Rebekah O’Brien will also grace the stage, conducting the contemporary piece “Caught by the Wind” by Jessie Montgomery. Jessie Mongomery “was born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side in the 1980s during a time when the neighborhood was at a major turning point in its history. Artists gravitated to the hotbed of artistic experimentation and community development.” This dynamic and innovative piece promises to add a modern flair to the concert, creating a diverse and engaging musical experience.

Don’t miss this extraordinary event that promises to fill the air with the resounding beauty of the organ and showcase the incredible talents of these accomplished musicians.
