Never Forget

“Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” – President Barack Obama

Monday will mark the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on the US. After you enjoy your weekend with friends, and family please take a moment to remember those who lost their lives that day.

‘Tank’ Baird, Todd Winder and everyone from the 9/11 Memorial Coalition and the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company do everything possible to make the ride a safe experience while honoring all those who lost their lives as a result of the attacks. We thank them for everything they do.

Events at the Fire Company begin at 10 a.m. and the ride starts at 6 p.m. Lou has all the details on page 6.

Please be careful on Monday. The ride will cause issues with traffic being slow and roads being blocked. Please note the map on page 7 so you know where the ride will be and what areas to avoid if you need to be travelling during the ride.

Big areas to avoid are Southern Ave. in South Williamsport, and all of West and East Third St. Remember if you need to get across Third St. during the ride you need to be prepared for it take a while so get your errands done early or find another way around.

If you are able, please go out and support the ride. Even if you can’t ride, please get out and line the streets, wave a flag, and remember those whose lives were lost, those who were injured and the families left behind.

Thousands of US Soldiers have been killed in action since 9/11. Please make sure that you remember to think of them and thank them for their sacrifice. We all know that freedom is never free, and I am thankful for all of the men and women who are willing to go out and defend that freedom every day.

On a separate note: I’m having a hard time believing that it is September already. Pretty soon fall will be here and I will need to make another Fall Bucket List that I will never complete!

Fall is a busy time around Webb Weekly. We have our Fall Home Improvement issue coming up on the 13th and we will have our Fall Hunting, Fishing and Outdoors special section on the 27th. Be sure to contact us or your sales rep if you are interested in running in either (or both!) of those sections!

On the football front, Jamie Spencer and Drae Lewis have been on the call for local high school football. Be sure to follow us on Facebook to see which games we are covering each week! You can always find game links around 6:45 p.m. on Friday nights on FB, or just head directly to! As always, we appreciate all the support you guys give us as we cover the best games in the West Branch Valley!
