Veterans Day Events

Members of the Lycoming County Veterans Memorial Park Commission and Volunteer Veterans will be at the Veterans Memorial Park on Veterans Day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They will be available to answer questions and provide information about the various projects completed at the park and future project in the works. They will also be taking orders for bricks, so this would be a great time to order a brick for placement in the memorial park walk.

If you’ve never been to the park, or even if it’s been a while since you’ve visited, this is a good time to visit.

There are monuments representing those who made the ultimate sacrifice during US conflicts, as well as the monument representing all Veterans who served and our most recent addition, the Central PA Gold Star Families Memorial devoted dedicated to our Gold Star families who sacrificed so much.

The park is located at 3401 West Fourth St. Williamsport.

The Jersey Shore Area Ministerium and the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church will host their 19th annual Veterans Day Prayer for America service. It will be Friday, November 11th. Fair Play Brass will play at 6:30 p.m. The service will begin at 7:00 p.m. It will be led by pastors of the Jersey Shore Area Ministerium and will feature the Jersey Shore Honor Guard, scriptures, prayers patriotic hymns, recognition of the fallen, interpreted folding of the flag, and special music. Free refreshments will follow. The speaker this year is PA Army National Guard and Iraq War veteran & State Rep. Joe Hamm.
