The Muncy Bank and Trust Company is one step closer to realizing its goal of offering community banking to all residents of Lycoming County. Rob Glunk, President and CEO announced that the company held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new full-service office in South Williamsport on September 1st.

Muncy Bank purchased three properties in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania to construct a new facility. The project includes plans to build a 15,790 square foot four floor structure that will become home to the company’s ninth full-service community office. The building will also add much needed administrative office space. The anticipated completion date for the financial center is during the fall of 2022. While not finalized, the bank has plans to hire 12 additional employees as well as move current employees who live in the South Williamsport/Williamsport area or have worked in the market to the new location.

Local dignitaries joined bank officials to launch construction of the company’s new building. “We are excited to be expanding our footprint in the South Williamsport/Williamsport market,” stated Rob Glunk, “as a community focused financial institution, we believe our relationship-based philosophy will meet the personal and business needs of the community.” The new location will offer a full array of financial products including traditional banking products and services as well as E-banking products, Residential Mortgage Lending, Commercial Lending and Services and Trust and Investment Services.

The current Muncy Bank buildings in downtown Muncy will continue to be the company’s headquarters and operations center. According to Glunk, “We were founded in 1893 in Muncy and we will continue to maintain a strong presence in the community, however we are outgrowing the space.” “Having a building closer to the Lycoming County seat will allow us to better serve customers already in the Williamsport/South Williamsport market area and be a great addition to the bank’s footprint.”

Pine Ridge Construction has been contracted to build the new office. According to Glunk, “As a local community bank it is very important for us to support local businesses. Whenever possible, Pine Ridge is using sub-contractors from the local market area.” Pine Ridge is scheduled to start construction in mid-September.
