Sixth Annual Rally For Recovery To Take Place Saturday, August 28

The scourge of substance abuse is one of the great problems that plague society, and when an individual triumphs and overcomes this scourge, it is time for celebration. This is the idea behind the Advocates for A Drug-Free Tomorrow’s Sixth Annual Rally for Recovery that will take place this Saturday, August 28, in Clinton County at the Dirty Dabbers property at 274 Reservoir Road, McElhattan.

The event consists of a 5K Run/Walk. It will be followed by memorial testimonies to the hope for recovery, as well as music, free food, and various activities.

According to Danielle Hardy, Prevention Specialist for the West Branch Drug and Alcohol Commission, the purpose of this event is to celebrate the hope for recovery from substance abuse and to remember those who lost their battle with it.

Registration will be held from 8 a.m. until the start of the race at 10 a.m. Pre-registration online is required to guarantee a t-shirt.

A community coalition serving Clinton County, the Advocates for a Drug-Free Tomorrow, has been in existence since April 2003, pursuing the prevention of, and embracing recovery from, substance use disorders. Register for the Rally for Recovery 5K online today at falconracetiming.com.
