Cutters Lead League with 8 MLB Draftees

A total of eight Williamsport Crosscutters were selected in the recently completed 2021 MLB Draft. The draft consisted of 20 rounds with 612 players chosen July 11-13 in Denver, the site of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game.

The 8 Williamsport players selected were:
• LHP Eduardo Rivera – Round 11 by Oakland
• INF Jacob Teter – Round 13 by Baltimore
• C Michael Trautwein – Round 13 by Cincinnati
• RHP Owen Holt – Round 16 by Cincinnati
• INF Christian Olivo – Round 17 by Chicago (NL)
• RHP Dominic Hambley – Round 18 by Chicago (NL)
• RHP Tyler Uberstine – Round 19 by Boston
• RHP Troy Taylor – Round 20 by Seattle

Overall, the MLB Draft League had 39 players selected in the draft with Williamsport’s 8 selections leading the way. The Frederick Keys, Trenton Thunder and West Virginia Black Bears each had 7 players selected, followed by the Mahoning Valley Scrappers with 6 and the State College Spikes with 4.

Cutters Virtual Food Drive Moved to August 4– Fans Can Earn Incentive Prizes!

The Williamsport Crosscutters will be holding a “virtual food drive” at their game on August 4 to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The event was originally scheduled for July 8 but the game was canceled due to rain.

The Food Bank can maximize monetary donations because of their wholesale purchasing ability, partnerships with food donors and suppliers, and efficient distribution model. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can help provide six nutritious meals to those in need.

During the Williamsport Crosscutters virtual food drive, fans can earn prizes by donating money to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Incentive prizes include tickets, limited-edition pins, bobbleheads, concession coupons, Cutters souvenirs and more. Donation levels start at just $1.

Unlike past years no food will be collected at the game. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank
acquires, sorts and distributes more than 1.3 million pounds of food per week. Traditionally, community food drives provided less than 1 percent of that food and take valuable time and
expense to collect and sort. For this reason, the Food Bank is no longer accepting food from
traditional food drives.
The donation portal is now open and will close during the August 4 game at the end of the 7th
inning. Fans must attend the August 4 game to collect their incentive prize. Those who wish to
donate and do not attend the game will forfeit any prizes earned. Fans not attending the game may donate at http://donate.centralpafoodbank.org/goto/crosscutters
