Lycoming County Fair Returns After One Year Absence

In another sign that things are beginning to return to normal after the COVID pandemic, the 150 th Lycoming County Fair will be returning July 14 to 24 after a one-year absence.

Lycoming County Fair Association Board Members are excited at the return of the fair but at the same time are frustrated that last year’s fair could not be presented.

James “Rocky” Reed Lycoming County Fair Association President told Webb Weekly, We’re so glad to be back this year. Celebrating the 150th is a monumental occasion that our committee has now spent the better part of 2 years planning. We can’t wait to have the community back inside our gates to enjoy the food, music, and entertainment we’re offering this year. We hope to see you all soon.”

Cliff Yaw, Fair Treasurer stated, “As a director of the Lycoming County Fair I would say that 2020 was very disappointing for myself and everyone who is involved in the fair, I didn’t like not being able to celebrate our 150th but we’ve had more time to plan different ideas of how to celebrate for 2021. Planning the fair is a year around affair and 2020 was no different, we still worked on what we needed to for when we were able to get back to normal.”

The free entertainment at the fair includes, Buffalo Beal’s Petting Zoo and Animal Rides, the Big Tiny Young Show, Dan and Galla, and Dino ROAR (dinosaur show).

There is a wide variety of other entertainment and activities on tap at the fair and these include:
– Harness Racing Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th both starting at 4 p.m.

– Free Day Wednesday the 14th and Monday the 19th
– Country Night Music Festival Friday the 16th at 6:30 p.m. Featuring RaeLynn, Tyler Reese Tritt, and Royal South. Fair officials are particularly excited about this and say please make sure to include this event in your fair itinerary, if possible

– Tough Truck Fest Monday the 19th
– Tuesday Lycoming County School Talent Show
– Draft Horse Pull Wednesday the 21st

– Truck Pulls Saturday the 24th

Admission is $4. Rides are not included in the admission price. Kids 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Parking is $3.

Free entertainment includes historical speakers, singers, Dino-Roars, 4H animal shows, night hayrides, pig races, carnival rides and games provided by Sunshine Shows.

And as usual, there will be various agriculture-related exhibits and judging events such as the Lycoming 4-H Youth Horse and Pony Fun Show, as well as other farm livestock and displays. And of course there will be all kinds of great food on hand available to the hungry fair goer.

So, as you can see there is a little bit of something for anyone at this year’s 150th Lycoming County Fair. For more information call 570-584-2196.
