Clinton County Speedway Opens Its 33rd Season Of Exciting Racing

For 33 years the Clinton County Speedway has provided the thrills and spills of the racing experience to race lovers here in northcentral Pennsylvania.

Their 33rd season got off to a good start on Friday, April 23 and promises many more moments of excitement throughout the racing season that extends into October.

The speedway is owned and operated by the Clinton County Fair Association. The Speedway is located at 98 Racetrack Road in Mill Hall at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.

“The Clinton County Fair Association continues to make upgrades and improvements. Most recently we have expanded our grandstands,” Jason McGahan, a race promoter, told Webb Weekly. “Central Pennsylvania has a strong history of dirt track auto racing and Clinton County is proud to be one of several speedways in our region.”

The RaceSaver Sprint Cars and the Limited Late Models alternate weeks as the featured division. In addition, the Pro Stocks, 270 Micro Sprints, 600 Micro Sprints and the 4 Cylinder Stock Car comprise the Friday night five-division show.

The 410 sprint cars will make their first return in over a decade on Saturday, August 14th presented by NAPA.

The RaceSaver Sprint Cars will compete in the Nittany 40 on October 2nd presented by Bill’s Happy Camper.

The Super Late Models will race on Saturday, Oct. 9th presented by Strouse Electric.

“We will also host several kid activities presented by Century 21 Bob Boob Reality. These include bike races, power wheels and a money and candy scramble,” said McGahan.

This Friday will feature Limited Late Models, Pro Stocks, 270 Micros, 600 Micros & 4-Cylinders. The events begin at 7:00 p.m.

Webb Weekly is a strong supporter of racing at the Clinton County Speedway. We have sponsored a competing racing car since 2004. Webb Weekly sponsors the Roan Racing Team, which came into existence in 1990 after team member and driver; Chuck Roan had gone to view races at the newly opened Clinton County Speedway in 1989. He fell in love with sprint racing and decided he wanted to be a part of it and then formed the Roan Racing Team for competition beginning in 1990. According to Mike Roan who co-owns Roan Racing with Craig Allgaier, “During the 1990s, we raced at Clinton County Speedway. We did some tours with the World of Outlaws during the New York swing of the tour. One time Mayor Capelli and the City of Williamsport sponsored us for a televised show on TNN. We raced at the Clinton County Speedway from 1990-2015. We toured New York State with the Patriot Sprint Tour and now we are happy to return to Clinton County.”

The Webb Weekly 22R sprint car was the 2013 track champion!

In its 30-year history Roan Racing Team has competed at the Clinton County Raceway, Port Royal, Williams Grove, Selinsgrove, in Pennsylvania and Hagerstown, Maryland.
