The past few months have been like nothing we’ve seen
All caused by an unwelcomed intruder – COVID-19
Its presence has brought with it misery and woe
The Governors now tells us where we can go
Families have been affected; jobs have been lost
There’s really no telling what this will all cost
Once only our cars were ruled by red, yellow & green
Now those bright three colors determine our scene
Restrictions are plentiful, they’re all over the place
To even go shopping, you must cover your face
Handshakes are gone, personal greetings are few
The Churches are empty, each and every pew
In the darkest of times the sky above is still blue
And hope still beckons for me and for you
The weather is warming and that’s good to hear
Take a moment to cherish those things you hold dear
Shake off that boredom, enjoy what spring brings
There’s fulfillment to gain from life’s little things
So often we’ve missed them, in today’s hectic pace
Life should be a stroll, not a frantic rat race
The flowers are blooming, the trees have gone green
Enjoy a walk with a loved one would be really keen
Shake off those thoughts of what has gone wrong
Remember the good things and let’s all stay strong
If what all its’ taught us is life is uncertain
We can’t hide in homes behind a closed curtain
Let’s all move ahead, forget all the stressing
We’ll all feel better counting our blessings!
