Seniors, Small Business and a Summer Giveaway

Memorial Day has passed, and we are onto summer! Hopefully, we will be making progress towards the fabled “Green” territory and returning to life as normal soon.

Here at Webb Weekly we are continuing to focus on the good. Seniors, small businesses and our Summer Cookout Giveaway!

This week’s Senior is Lydia Smith from Williamsport High School. The daughter of Shaun & Sue Smith, Lydia is a standout student athlete with several accomplishments under her belt both scholastically and athletically.

Lydia has received many honors in Cross Country Track, Soccer and Swimming. Her freshman year she made 2nd team in the PHAC for Cross Country and Soccer. She made First Team her remaining years of high school.

In regional competition her freshman year she placed 10th in Cross Country and 1st in Soccer. In the pool she took first in the 200-free relay, and 2nd in the 50-free. On the track she took 2nd in the 4×800.

Her sophomore and junior years saw her again taking several medals in all three sports.

During her senior year she placed 2nd in Cross Country at the Regional level.

Lydia also had much success at the State level. Her freshman year she was a State Qualifier in Soccer and Swimming (200-freestyle relay). As a sophomore she was a State Qualifier in swimming in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Junior year brought a Cross Country State Qualifier as well as swimming in the 200 and 400 relays and the 50-freestyle. In her senior year she was in the top 50 in the State competition.

Outside of WASD she was also an Aquathon Nation and World Champion her junior year and an Aquathon National Runner Up her senior year.

She was also a member of the Penn College Youth Leadership Program, had the 4th place project in Williamsport School District’s “Be the Change” program that took place at Firetree Place. She was a member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), and a member of the Class of 2020 Executive Board. She was also a lifeguard for Special Olympics Swimming.

This fall will see Lydia heading off to Daemen College in Amherst, NY to study nursing.

As always, we wish Lydia the best of luck in all her future endeavors.
