UPDATE/CANCELLED: UPMC Hospital Auxiliary Presents Autumn Fest and Car Show, Sunday, September 29

UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

If you missed last weekend’s great shows, you have another chance to see another great Car Show this weekend when the UPMC Hospital Auxiliary presents their Annual Autumn Fest and Car Show on the grounds of the Divine Providence Hospital this Sunday, September 29. The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Gates will open for entry of show cars at 7 a.m. If your vehicle has wheels it is welcome.

The cost for each vehicle is $10 and parking is the participant’s choice. Vehicles must be registered by 1 p.m. to be judged with the award’s ceremony at 3 pm.

Autumn Fest will also feature a selection of appetizing foods, various craft vendors, The Pumpkin Patch Ride, and other children’s activities are among the planned activities.

Special displays this year include a Mustang Corral featuring over 75 Mustangs to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the North Central Mustang Club; the Susquehannock Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will feature the Model A Ford and a 1905 Single Cylinder Cadillac Boat-tail Runabout.

New this year will be a Winner’s Circle display of previous champions.

“This year we honor the iconic Ford Mustang, from a secretary’s car at its 1964 introduction to an all-out World Class Super Car. No other car has offered as many available options to satisfy the dreams of everyone as the Mustang has,” Earl Mowery a member of the show committee, told Webb Weekly.

Mowery continued, “The Model A Ford “Henry’s Lady” was offered from 1928 to 1931 and priced below $500, which resulted in over five million being sold. In 1905 for $800, one could purchase a Cadillac sporting a single cylinder engine that created a whopping eight horsepower and would cruise at 30 miles per hour.”

This year’s event proceeds will benefit the Addiction Medicine Program at UPMC Susquehanna.
