Three Interesting Car Shows Slated For This Weekend

If you enjoy cars this should be a dream weekend for car enthusiasts as three car shows representing three different types of cars will take place this weekend on Saturday, September 21, beginning at 9 a.m.

More than 150 Corvettes will be on display on Main Street in Muncy when the Susquehanna Valley Corvette Club holds its 12th Annual Car Show. In addition to these snappy, classic cars, there will be food and craft vendors and a Kids Zone.

There will also be a raffle drawing. Tickets are $50, and only 2,000 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be Saturday, September 21 around 4:00 p.m. at the car show, and the prizes are as follows:

– 1st Prize – Winner’s choice of a 2019 Corvette, 2019 Silverado Truck, OR $35,000 CASH.

– 2nd Prize – $3,000 cash

– 3rd Prize – $1,000 cash.

All proceeds from the Car Show will benefit the Susquehanna Valley Corvette Club Pennsylvania College of Technology Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship was started by the SVCC in 2014 to ensure that young people carry on the love and preservation of automobiles. 15 scholarships to date have been awarded by the SVCC.

The Mopar Muscle of Central Car Club and Fairfield Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership, Route 405 Muncy Pa., will be hosting their 20th Car Show. It is located at the dealership, (Exit 13 off of Route I-180).

All proceeds go to local children’s charities, including Camp Victory of Millville, A special camp for special kids.

They will judge 24 classes of Mopars awarding trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. They also give out plaques for the Longest Distance, The Oldest Driver, The Youngest Driver and “Hard Luck”.

Fully stocked goodie bags will be given to the first 100 participants to arrive at the show. Door Prizes tickets will be given to every registrant.

This Year’s ‘Feature Vehicle’ will be all six-pack cars for the 50th Anniversary — all owners of these models will receive a special gift. A six-pack usually refers to the Chrysler (Mopar) carburetor setup which is three-two barrel carbs on an intake.

There will be lots of food vendors and food stands available, a Chinese auction, Mopar t-shirt sales. There will be multiple raffles for a special Queen Size Mopar Quilt, a handmade metal fire ring, a collector’s Mopar sign and more.

There will also be a drawing for a Pocono Trip, sponsored by Numidia Dragway. One winner will have the opportunity to win an overnight stay at a Pocono Resort including a ride-along at the Pocono Raceway and a cash allowance.

Don’t forget about the Dyno Pulls either! Just $65 gets you three pulls!

Steve Peterman, Club Car Show Chairman, reported that there were 113 Mopars at last year’s show to be judged. He also noted that the numbers have gone up every year as the show progresses. He hopes are that with good weather, the number will be even higher this year.

The Northcentral Mustang Club will be holding their Car Show at Murray Motors. This Car Show has previously occurred at such venues as Indian Park in Montoursville and the Lycoming County Fairgrounds in Hughesville. It has been held at present site, Murray Motors for the past eight years. This show benefits the American Cancer Society. They will have live music, food and prizes.

All three Car Shows are free for attendees and there will be shuttle buses provided by River Valley Transit available to shuttle people back and forth to the three shows.
