For the opening weekend of local trout season (April 13-14), we will again introduce the public to our resident Bald eagles. According to reports, the adults have been incubating eggs since February 23.

Saturday’s programs are Eagle Watches at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Visitors will learn about the eagles and have the opportunity to observe the nest. Binoculars and spotting scopes will be available for use during the program. Meet at the Eagle Watch Area for these programs.

Sunday at 10:30 a.m. there will be another Eagle Watch. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a program on making fishing lures. This is intended for children ages 6 and up. Due to equipment availability, this program is limited to 12 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis. An adult must accompany children under age 16. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center, in the lower floor of the park office.

DCNR and Little Pine State Park are committed to conserving and sustaining Pennsylvania’s natural resources for present and future generations’ use and enjoyment. The Bureau of State Parks provides opportunities for enjoying healthful outdoor recreation and serves as outdoor classrooms for environmental education.
