60th West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association Home Show This Weekend

It has been a long winter, and you may be thinking about some home improvement project or projects for your home as the weather gets better. Well, this weekend’s 60th West Branch Susquehanna Builders Home Show at the Keiper Recreation Center on the campus of Lycoming College from March 15 to 17 is just the place for you. They have over 25,000 square feet of exhibits featuring more than 140 vendors this year. It’s an excellent opportunity to see all the latest trends, products and ideas for your home improvement or building projects.

For 60 years now, the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Home Show has become one of the area’s most highly anticipated event for both businesses and consumers alike. Its success has tagged it as one of the most successful home shows in the region. Exhibitors come from all over Central Pennsylvania and the Northern Tier, even as far away as Harrisburg and Altoona.

Vendors will be showcasing their business services and products to a captive audience of thousands of attendees that would typically take months or years to reach personally. Attendees will find a wealth of information, products, services, and creative ideas all in one place, drawing inspiration and opportunities from unexpected places. This year the Association expects to host over 140 exhibitors, all of whom are ready to answer your questions and help bring life to your ideas. Admission is still only $5 for adults or $4 with a canned food item. Children 17 and under are admitted free. The donated canned goods will be used to fill a “House of Cans,” made by the construction students from Williamsport Area High School. Food donations will be given to the Central PA Food Bank.

One new and unique feature this year will be a free seminar on Saturday, March 16 for those attending the Home Show. Woodlands Bank will be offering homeowners helpful advice on the process of homebuilding – topics will include: choosing the right contractor, obtaining permits, the code, and inspection process, securing money, etc.

Saturday at 11 a.m. – Home Construction Financing presented by Brian Brooking of Woodlands Bank

Saturday at Noon – Building a Home presented by Ross Mahosky of Mountainside Custom Homes

Saturday at 1 p.m. – Making Sense of Codes and Permitting by Gerry Kilgus from the Central Keystone Council of Governments

Also, new this year, admission is FREE to folks 17 and under. (In the past they charged 12-17-year-olds)
