Jersey Shore High School Performs “Who’s Crazy Now?”

Antics of former teachers in an insane asylum will bring plenty of laughter to audiences in the upcoming performance of “Who’s Crazy Now?”

The show is being performed Nov. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jersey Shore Area Senior High School auditorium. Directed by Mrs. Michele Long, the play is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students, and general admission tickets will be sold at the door.

It promises plenty of laughter right from the start. Teaching teenagers has driven a group of teachers crazy, and the play starts with these teachers acting like their former students. The teachers are hilariously portrayed by Shania Penton, Liz Shaffer, Abigayle Greevy, Analee Tindell, and Allison Panczyszyn, joined by the principal, Cheryl Demers.

The plot develops with a special visitor named Florence Ware (portrayed by Dayanaira Watson), who is the niece of the superintendent of the asylum, Ms. Arthur, (portrayed by Dakota Dieter). She and a staff Dr. Van (Cale Blakely) develop feelings for each other, but each is under the impression that the other is an inmate. In fact, there is a doctor inmate, Dr. Sullivan (Logan Garrett), which just adds to the confusion and humor. The niece starts out thinking she would like to become a teacher, but after witnessing the crazy teachers, she decides that perhaps marrying the young doctor would be a better life choice.

The stage and support crew includes: Julie Wagner, stage supervisor and sound supervisor; Margaret Ortbal, sound consultant; Kris Zinck, Kaylyn Naugle, and Jordyn Vander Putten, sound technicians; Cortni Frankhouser, Blaize Spotts, and Jillian Waldman, lighting technicians; Aleyah Bathurst and Arabella Fielder, property managers; Daryl Andrus, wardrobe manager; Breonna Fink, Blake Harman, Kayla Keen, poster designers; Janna Riggle, publicity and ticket sales. The set construction was completed by Michele Long, Michael Panczyszyn, Julie Panczyszyn, Julie Wagner, Margaret Ortbal, Breonna Fink, Jessica McClellan, cast and crew.
