Never Forget

“Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit. We never surrender.” ~ John McCain

Tuesday will mark the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks on the US. After you enjoy your long weekend with friends and family, please take a moment to remember those who lost their lives that day.

As always, ‘Tank’ Baird, Todd Winder and everyone from the 9/11 Memorial Coalition and the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company do everything possible to make the ride a safe experience while honoring all those who lost their lives as a result of the attacks. We thank them for everything they do.

Lou has all the details for the Memorial Ride and a ride map on pages 6 and 7. There are going to be a lot of issues with traffic during the ride with roads being blocked and traffic being stopped. Please be extra careful and aware.

Big areas to avoid are Southern Ave. in South Williamsport, and all of West and East Third St. Remember if you need to get across Third St. during the ride you need to be prepared for it take a while, so get your errands done early or find another way around.

If you are able, please go out and support the ride. Even if you can’t ride, please get out and line the streets, wave a flag, and remember those whose lives were lost, those who were injured and the families left behind.

The memory of 9/11 sticks with us all. It reminds us that freedom isn’t free and we should be thankful for all the men and women who are currently serving and have served our country.

It’s trying time in the US today, so let’s all take a break on 9/11 and remember the military members and emergency service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of helping and protecting others. Politics can wait. I promise, there will be plenty to argue about on Wednesday.

On a Lighter Note…

Hopefully, by the time you read this, all the kids will be back in school. Mold issues have been rampant in the area, but I hope everyone is back in the classroom now.

While the kids are just heading back, we are actually heading into our 3rd week of high school football. And Webb Weekly is in our 3rd year of bringing you live games each week.

Gary, Babe and both the Pauls have been doing an excellent job of covering the games. This week, we have Bulldogs at both games. Gary and Babe are on the mic when the Berwick Bulldogs bring their game to STA Stadium, and the Pauls are heading to the Shore as those Bulldogs host Montoursville. Both games kick-off at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to head to webbweeklylive.com to watch both games. If you’ve missed any of the previous games, you can catch the replays there also.

If you are all about that pre-game action, be sure to check out Touchdowns & Tailgates every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Jimmy, Gary, Babe, Doc Masse and special guests are visiting different schools each week to get the low down on the upcoming games. Again, you can watch the current episode and replays at webbweeklylive.com.
