Annual Williamsport Welcomes the World Set for August 24; 2018 Hall of Fame Inductee Vladimir Guerrero to Attend

The 9th Annual Williamsport Welcomes the World Street Festival in Downtown Williamsport will be held on Friday, August 24th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The streets in the Central Business district between Market and Hepburn streets on West Fourth Street will close to traffic in order to accommodate the four-hour celebration. There will be live music, art, kids’ activities, along with food vendors and craft vendors.

The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce through its Lycoming County Visitors Bureau has coordinated an exclusive autograph session with 2018 Hall of Fame Inductee Vladimir Guerrero from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., sponsored by Moff and Associates, Rennie Rodarmel Insurance Agency, River Valley Transit and Panda Patriot, The Liberty Group, and Allison Crane and Rigging. Guerrero will only be autographing a signed print being distributed to all attendees during the hour-long autograph session.
“The Visitors Bureau and Chamber are pleased to once again partner with the City and downtown merchants to bring visitors and residents alike to the City’s downtown,” Jason Fink, executive director of the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau, told Webb Weekly. “Williamsport is fortunate to be the birthplace and home to Little League Baseball, and we are happy to showcase the city merchants through this event,” he continued.

Musical Entertainment has been arranged by the Uptown Music Collective and sponsored by PMF Industries, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Welliver, J.F. Kiely and Sons Construction of PA, Stallion Oilfield Services, Keystone Wood Products Association, and VFW Post 7863 in Duboistown. This will be held in the area in front of the Community Arts Center. Kids Zone activities are being sponsored by PA Fish and Boat Commission, Energy Transfer Partners, and Commonwealth Charter Academy. They will be located in the parking lot adjacent to the Lycoming County Visitors Information Center/Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce offices. This will be taking place in the Trade and Transit Centre II Plaza.

The Lycoming County Visitors Bureau has again provided Williamsport Welcomes the World 2018 pins to downtown merchants. This is being done through our Official Healthcare Partner, UPMC Susquehanna. Participating merchants will be open throughout the evening offering special discounts with only 750 pins available that evening with a $5 purchase.
