Hooray For Hollywood, With The Repasz Band!

Join The Repasz Band for a fun, jaunty, and exciting musical tribute to tinsel town! Venerable musical scores from a huge variety of films from a wide range of Hollywood history will be featured, live and in-person!

Capturing the spirit of the evening will be an overture-like medley “Hooray For Hollywood,” arranged by Warren Baker. This gem touches on “Tara’s Theme,” “42nd Street”, “Born Free,” “The High And The Mighty,” “A Summer Place,” “Swanee,” “Days of Wine and Roses,” “As Time Goes By,” and then the namesake tune.

In other classic arrangements, the themes to “Lawrence Of Arabia,” “The Magnificent Seven,” “Rocky,” and the immortal ragtime music from the movie “The Sting” will be presented.

An arrangement by Jay Bocook entitled “Who’s That Masked Man?” includes movie themes from The Lone Ranger trumpet call, to “Spiderman,” to “Phantom of the Opera,” to “The Glory Days,” to “Zorro.”

More recent moviegoers will enjoy sound-track samplers from “Moana” and “Avatar.” All eras of the ongoing James Bond saga will dive in! And comic relief will come compliments of the Looney Tunes Overture.

Of course, no Repasz Band concert would be complete without a classic American military march, and this concert will also feature John Phillip Sousa’s “The Liberty Bell.” Many Hollywood scores have included great and immortal music such as this. Also in this vein, expect Edward Elgar’s “Nimrod” from “Enigma Variations,” and Richard Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” to fill the hall with awe!

As always, this concert is commenced and capped with our National Anthem, and the bands own “Repasz Band March” respectively.

Musical direction for this year’s Spring Concert is provided by the Band’s ne plus ultra conducting squad of Director Albert J. Nacinovich, Associate Director Jeffrey Dent, and Assistant Directors, Ms. Jessica Lewis, and Mr. Theo Lentz.

Williamsport’s own internationally acclaimed Repasz Band will take the stage at the Community Arts Center, 220 West Fourth Street, on Tuesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m.
